14 Best Things About Spending Christmas With Your Other Half

"It's the most wonderful time of the year!"
Christmas brings everyone together: friends, families, girlfriends/boyfriends. With tonnes of activities and things to do, it's the best time to show someone that you care.

1. You have someone to watch countless Christmas movies with.

Elf, The Santa Claus, The Holiday- you name it, you can watch them all together!

2. Endless amount of cosy cuddles.

Is there anything better than being huddled up inside, in your pjs whilst the weather is horrible outside?

3. Someone to share/half the stress with.

Honestly, they actually make Christmas shopping seem fun!

Omg, are we in a Christmas movie?! Is this real life?!

5. You have someone to *badly* sing allllllll the Christmas songs with.

Jingle bells, Jingle bells, Jingle all the way....

6. If you like that sort of thing, you can get personalised Christmas baubles with your names on it.

All the cuteness in the world.

7. You have someone to vent to when your family becomes just too much at this time of year.

Honestly, if my mum asks me one more time for *insert anything annoying here*....

8. Buying gifts for someone you actually like.

None of this nonsense of having to buy a gift for that aunt you only see once a year. This time you get to spend money on someone you see near enough every day.

9. Creating your own traditions.

Whether it be spending Christmas eve, or morning together, or making boxing day you're own special Christmas day, if you have to spend it apart.

10. There is a definite possibility that you could wear matching Christmas jumpers.

Think of all the insta likes you'll get with that cute post ;)

11. IF it starts snowing...

You have someone to make a snowman with!! (aka the best Christmas activity ever)

12. And have a snowball fight with.

Wait, this might be the best one hmmm...

13. All the mulled wine at cute Christmas markets.

Does it get more romantic?!

14. The magic of Christmas is TRIPLED because you get to spend it with someone who you actually like spending time with.

12 Lies You Tell Yourself At The Start Of Every Week

Monday morning: a place for fresh starts and new beginnings! Until you actually wake up to one, of course, and realise the harsh reality of it...Monday's are the worst.

1. I'll go to the gym.

I’m defos going to turn around my life and become a healthy goddess. Mhm.

2. I'll be in bed at a reasonable time.
Every night by 11pm. And I won't watch any Netflix. None. Not even one little episode.

3. And when I'm getting out of bed, I absolutely will not snooze my alarm because I don’t have time.

Early bird catches the worm, and all that jazz!

4. I’m going to drink more water this week.
My skin WILL be flawless, I just know it.

5. I’m not going to drink unnecessary amounts of alcohol this week.

Not even one little glass of wine. Nope.

6. I’ll tidy out my wardrobe.
It'll make my room seem much more tidier, I really need to get this in order.

7. I’m definitely not wasting my time procrastinating. Work comes first!

What exactly are you doing reading this article then?!

8. I'm going to eat so healthily from now on.
No take-aways, a packed lunch everyday. Just watch me go, world!

9. Defos not going to lie in bed at night scrolling through facebook/instagram/twitter on my phone.

I'm becoming a changed woman; social media will not define me.
10. I’m going to start writing down all my expenses and spending less money. This will save me soooooo much money in the long run! No more 2 o'clock Starbucks.

11. OK, but this time I’m serious. I’m NEVER texting her/him again.
Honestly, SUCH a waste of time.

12. But at the end of the day you’re just like eh, whatever, there’s always a next Monday.

Screw it, life is too short.

Gender Pay Gap- What Is Your View?

Hi everyone!

For my journalism uni assignment I've to write a feature article & I've decided to do mines on the pay gap between men and woman.
It is not only every day woman who are experience this shocking difference; but also high profile celebrities. Jennifer Lawrence, for example, published an essay on the subject.

As of November 10th (four decades after the Equal Pay Act was put into action) on average, male company directors take home £21,000 a year more than their female co-workers.

But these are just numbers and I would love to hear about anyone's real life experience with this issue.

My article is for education purposes only & will only be viewed by myself and my lecturer, but I'm looking for some people who are willing to make this subject even more related to a wider audience.

Whether it's an opinion, a first hand experience or another story to add to the article- I would be so grateful if you got involved/let me know how it's affected you!

(Men and women- because I know this isn't a one sided argument!)

Thanks ☺️

15 Things Only Siblings With A Big Age Gap Will Understand

You know whats the best thing ever? When you don’t have to really worry about being the oldest or youngest or even the only child as there’s a huge age gap between you and your sibling!

1. You're in totally different stages of your lives.
Maybe you've just left high school and your sibling is just starting school Or you're pulling all-nighters in college while your older sister's having her own kids.

2. Your friends were inevitably sucked into playing with your younger sib.

The test of true friendship is playing board games with your BFF's little sibling when you really just want to talk about your crush. Well done to you if you passed ;)

3. As the younger sibling, you HATED going to sleep.
A set bed time was always the worst.

4. You can't please everyone on family holidays.

As a teenager, you're stuck on the teacup rides at Disney. As a toddler, you're dragged around to museums.

5. If you're the younger one, you could be an aunt when you're still in high school.
Yeah, kids are adorable, but HELLO being an aunt/uncle requires nappy changing. Eww.

6. But if you're older, lets not forget how shocked you were when you first found out you’d be getting a new brother or sister.

The world literally ended.

7. But now?You get really really really proud about their achievements.
8. And despite the big age gap, you still manage to fight.

Play fighting is not age restricted fyi.

9. Younger siblings are sick of hearing how mature and wise you are.
Don't forget we share the same parents, we all know how wild your uni days were.

10.…but if anyone tries to hurt your little brother and/or sister, you get really protective.

Seriously. Don't mess with the family.

11. Again if you're older,  you take a way more parental view of her than you would of a closer-in-age sibling. That doesn’t mean it won’t feel weird when you hear yourself say, “you can’t go out in that!”, though.

12. You’re also certain that your parents didn’t let you do half of what she gets away with when you were her age.

Which is sooooooo unfair.

13. If you’re younger, you’ll end up discovering music that made you feel way cooler than your friends.Chances are you were considered mature for your age.

14. If you’re older, people will often assume your little sibling is in fact your child.

Which can obviously be embarrassing.

15. But you wouldn't trade your sibling for the world. When your parents are being super embarrassing, there's only one person you want to laugh about it with.

#PrayforParis : This Should Not Be Happening

I do not condone violence; it is not within my nature. As the saying goes: I am a lover, not a fighter.

The attack on Paris has broadcasted the desolate truth: the world truly is in danger.

When does one war stop and another begin? When does one political issue draw the line for the other to start? Why in this day and age do we live in fear of violent crimes and terrorism. This should not be happening.

Tonight many people have lost their lives, and at this moment we do not know for what cause. But what cause is so just, that lives can be lost over? This should not be happening.

Innocent lives. That's what these are. The people who died in Paris tonight were not soldiers signing up to protect their country, knowing what may lay ahead by risking their lives.

These people were living their average day. Going to a concert, meeting friends at a pub or catching a football game.

Let that sink in. These people were innocent in this cruel, horrific incident. People, who just like me and you, woke up this morning not knowing what lay ahead. This should not be happening.

Unknown right now what sort of attack it may be, it is hard to judge whether this could have prevented. It is hard to comprehend just how cruel a place this world in which we live in can be. It is hard to imagine that someone has the guts to pull the trigger to end another's live. This should not be happening.

Please, tonight (along with myself) make your thoughts go out to those involved & families who have lost loved ones.

This should not be happening

11 Struggles Of Trying To Make Plans Over The Christmas Period

Every year we say to ourselves 'I'm going to be so organised this time around'.... Does it happen? No. Do we still get stressed out? Yes. And buying presents? THAT'S the easy part...never mind trying to organised meeting up with people!

1. You start to make a list of all the groups of friends you want to meet up with over the holidays.

And then in your best Mean Girl's voice say: 'It's not my fault people like me.'

2. You need a calendar app to figure out when everyone is free.
Trying to tie people down to make plans over Christmas is so difficult, and you're about ten seconds away from being so over this.

3. And then you have the struggle of trying to find cute outfit.

Which, let's be honest, is really hard. There's always bound to be someone there with the same dress on as you! Aaaand let's not forget tight/bodycon is out the question after all those pigs in blankets.

4. You over-estimate your ability to go 'out out.'
I swear if someone mentions Jagerbomb after my second night out in a row....

5. No one likes to organise anything.

It's always left to you. Multiple facebook chats, texts and reminders later and you're STILL waiting for someone's work night out deposit!

6. No one wants to commit to plans."I'm not quite sure what I'm doing yet", "I might just play it by ear", "I don't realise how annoying I'm being but I'm just not ready to decide"

7. People lie.

"I'm easy". That's not true though, is it though Jessica?! We all know you hate about a million places, so just tell us what suits you to make this whole thing easier.

8. Everywhere is already booked up.
I mean how is it possible that nearly everywhere that's decent is booked up in the middle of November. HONESTLY.

9. Or y'know too expensive.

Yes I'd like the turkey please and a glass of prosecco. But if you could just hold on a sec until I sell my left kidney.

10. Someone always pulls out at the last minute. These people are the scum of the earth. DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD I'VE WORKED TO ORGANISE THIS!?

11. But, once you're out and the wine is flowing.... let's be honest: it really is the most wonderful time of the year!

16 Things You Should Know Before Dating A Sagittarius

All fellow Sagittariun's will agree that we are the most complex of zodiac people, there's no doubt about one. One minute we'll be all over you & bombarding you with attention; and the next we want no human contact. It's not your fault really, and it is most definitely not ours either- it's just the way our stars are aligned...Honest!

1. Sagittarius’s enjoy a challenge.

We like to use our minds, solve problems and think! Keeping us on our toes and not letting us become bored is the main thing.

2. We're a social bunch.

If you're finding it hard to plan a 'chill' night with us, just remember the classic 'it's not you it's me.' Seriously, we love being active and social, so the more activities you plan for us, the better.

3. Yet, need privacy and some time to themselves.

So don't feel offended if we don't text back, we sometimes just need a little space. We're odd creatures like that.

4. Sagittarius’s are loving yet not clingy.

Like above, we know how to have a balance. We like time to ourselves, but don't worry we will make sure you know how much you're loved.

5. Sagittarius’s crave adventure.

Don't expect the ordinary from us- we know there's greater things to see in the world than a drunken Saturday night in town eating a cold kebab. Without trying to sound like a total hipster, we do really want to see the world.

6. Yet don't like change.

Yep, again odd little creatures. We want to see absolutely everything, but still love our home comforts.

7. Sagittarius’s are charming.

We know how to work people & get what we want, so be prepared.

8. But have a short temper.

Especially when we're hungry/tired/stressed/any emotion really. Soz about that.

9. We're very inflexible.

Bad timing is a HUGE no-no. If you're as social and as short tempered as us, we need things to run our way. As you can probably tell, we're veryyyy impatient

10. But we are insanely loyal.

Once you've got us; you've got us. There is no getting rid, we're with ya foreva!

11. And become very passionate about things we love.

Every few weeks you'll see us develop a new hobby or interest which we'll become obsessed with.

12. Oh, but we're the most indecisive people you'll meet.

Honestly, we'll have a total melt down if you ask us to choose something, so please don't. Lolz.

13. But on a whole, we're pretty optimistic

Along with bad traits, come the good ones. We can guarantee that even through your hardest times we'll keep you smiling!

14. We often over-think everything.

Just let us talk it out, offer some comforting reassurance and everything will be ok. Chocolate helps too btw.

15. If we like you, we really like you.

We don’t waste our time with people we’re not completely crazy about. If we agreed to go on a date with you, we like you. Take it as a huge compliment.

16. But most importantly we value our best trait as being a great friend who is always there for you.
